Visit Moontide Distillery and experience a guided tasting of their distinctive native botanical flavours that are infused into their gins. Dogs on leashes are welcome in the dog-friendly garden area where you can sit a while, enjoy a G&T and graze on one of their curated cheese boards.
Built for pearl dealers and merchants in 1897, Streeter’s Jetty is one of the best places to observe the mangroves. Definitely one for the ‘gram, the jetty serves as a reminder of Broome’s pearling past. Take a moment and watch as the tide goes out and reveals the mangroves below.
One of Broome’s most picturesque attractions, the colours on display at Roebuck Bay have to be seen to be believed. One of 12 Nature Reserve wetland sites in Western Australia, take in the milky turquoise waters while walking your dog at low tide. Stroll along the shore and admire the tidal flats that appear on low tide on this dog-friendly beach.
Is there a better way to spend time with your best mate than to witness a natural phenomenon together? The Staircase to the Moon occurs when the full moon rises over the exposed tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. Grab a spot at the Roebuck Bay Lookout and watch as the moonlight casts its glow across the waters, creating that spectacular illusion. Sunset is also one of the most popular times to jump on a camel rides on Cable Beach. These camel tours have been a Broome institution on Cable Beach for decades and are a sight to behold.
Gantheaume Beach
Did you know you can see dinosaur prints in Broome? Dating back to prehistoric times, you can see some of the best dinosaur footprints in Australia at Gantheaume Point in Broome. Leashed dogs are permitted at Gantheaume Point, so take them out there at low tide to see if you can spot them. If you don’t happen to find them, there are plaster casts of three of the footprints located at the end of the walking path.
Reddell Beach
Reddell Beach is not just a favourite amongst the locals in Broome, it’s also known as a haven’t for dogs. What sets Reddell Beach apart is not only its scenic wonders but also its pet-friendly environment. While the day away on this white sandy beach or admire the red rock formations surrounding you, the calm waters of Reddell Beach beckons both you and your dog to take a refreshing dip in the Indian Ocean.
