Here at Summerstar, we get the bond people have with their furry friends – they're part of the family, after all!
We know it can be hard finding friends or shelters to care for your best mate while you’re away on holiday – not to mention you don’t want them missing out on the fun family vacation.
Read on for more info about where we do and don't allow pets at our family-friendly caravan, holiday and tourist parks.
Summerstar allows most pets in all powered and unpowered camping sites across all caravan park locations in Western Australia (with the exception of Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park) and in Ceduna in South Australia.
The reason for this? Eighty Mile Beach is a Marine Park and is land and waters managed under the Conservation and Land Management Act 1984. The beach is brimming with diverse marine life and delicate ecosystems (such as Flatback turtles that nest on the beach, and thousands of migratory birds), and therefore no pets (including dogs) are permitted. We're passionate about preserving this natural wonder and ensuring its sustainability for generations to come and we appreciate the understanding from our guests in helping us protect this unique environment.
We also offer pet friendly accommodation in South Australia with our cottages at Ceduna Shelly Beach Caravan Park and pet friendly accommodation in Western Australia with our non ensuite cabin and park home at Carnarvon Capricorn Holiday Park.
To help everyone have a tip-top time, we've got some strict guidelines to keep all our visitors safe - favourite family pets included! If you’re ever unsure if your pet would be suitable to join you on your family holiday to one of Summerstar’s stunning waterfront caravan parks, please get in touch with the park and we can chat it out.
P.s. Don't forget to let us know about any animals that are joining you on your holiday when you place your booking - the notes section before adding your stay to your cart is the perfect place for this!
Your pet remains your responsibility throughout your stay.
Entry to any park (except Eighty Mile Beach Caravan Park) is conditional upon the pet owner abiding by the following requirements:
If we reasonably believe your pet is causing a nuisance, behaving dangerously or causing damage to the property, you will be required to remove it from the park. No refunds will be provided in these instances.
We hope that you and your pet enjoy your stay and thank you for your co-operation.
The above terms & conditions for pet-friendly camping sites still apply for those staying in our pet-friendly cottages at Ceduna Shelly Beach Caravan Park and pet friendly cabins at Capricorn Holiday Park with the below amendments.
3. Your pet is permitted off-lead when within the confines of your cottage, cabin or park home.

Do Summerstar Tourist Parks offer pet-friendly accommodation options?
While we do allow pets to visit and stay at our parks, there are some pet-friendly terms and conditions that need to be followed. It’s important to note that pets are permitted on most unpowered and powered sites, however they are not permitted in park cabins, holiday units, cottages, chalets or within the ensuite on ensuite camping sites.
Read our pet-friendly terms and conditions above for a full list of requirements.
Does it cost extra for pet-friendly accommodation?
No. While we do not charge for pets staying in our park and no bond is required, Summerstar reserve the right to charge your credit card for any breach of our pet policy.
Are all pets permitted at Summerstar Tourist Park locations?
While we do allow most pets to join you in your stay, some breeds and animals are not permitted. If you’re unsure if your pet will be allowed, please reach out to the park directly and speak to a park manager.
