1. Winter in South West WA means whale season! 

Join a whale watching tour in winter with humpback whales frequenting Augusta from May to July, and humpback whales, southern right and even pigmy blue whales cruising in the bays from Busselton to Dunsborough from July - September. Hop on board with one of the local whale watching companies in Margaret River to see these majestic marine giants up close! 

2. Truffles! 

Winter in WA's South West means truffle season in Manjimup and surrounds. Unearth this black gold on a winter truffle hunt tour, or attend the annual Truffle Kerfuffle festival to indulge in truffle-inspired dishes by world-renowned chefs.

Margaret River in winter is known for its world-class surf breaks. The annual Margaret River Pro Surfing Competition often takes place in April or May to kick-start the winter surfing season.
