When your pooch is a part of the family, holiday adventures without them just isn’t an option.
For most Australians, a pet is more than a four-legged creature who shares your home. In fact, Australian pets are among the most pampered in the world. And when you’re looking for your next family getaway to an amazing West Australian holiday destination, finding a place that caters for everyone in the house is important.
Australians love their canine friends. Nearly five million households have one or more pets, with pet ownership at 63%.
If you’re after your next family escape (and don’t want to leave your four-legged pal at home), here are the top pet-friendly caravan park destinations in the beautiful state of WA.
Located about 720 km southeast of Perth, Esperance is home to Australia’s most beautiful beaches.
The trip from Perth’s CBD is about a seven-hour drive, but it makes for a great adventure with the scenery and coastal wonders to explore along the way.
For dog-friendly caravan & camping sites, visit our Esperance Bay Holiday Park, only 1km from the town centre.
While we offer studio park cabins, holiday units and chalets, it’s our camping and caravan sites where your four-legged pal is welcome.
Our powered sites are spacious enough to fit 24-foot (7.3 metre) caravan and motorhomes, with parking for one car. These sites are close to all park amenities, with local food and drink and pristine coastline at your doorstep.
If you’re heading north from Perth in the search for a pet-friendly holiday destination, Geraldton is the place to go. Geraldton is the perfect stop for water-based activities (and beaches perfect for your dog) and has many exciting local attractions.
Geraldton Belair Gardens Caravan Park have powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites available year-round. Both options are pet-friendly, meaning your best mate can join along on the family holiday. Powered ensuite camping sites are also available, but please note animals are not permitted in the ensuite building.
If you're holidaying with your dog in Geraldton, it’s important to know where your four-legged pal is and is not allowed. If you’re visiting the stunning coastline for a splash, check the approved dog exercise areas.
Between the shores of Kalbarri and Geraldton lies one of WA’s most relaxing holiday destinations – Horrocks Beach.
Horrocks Beach Caravan Park can be found off North West Highway. Traditionally, the beach town was a holiday camping and fishing post in the 1850s. Today, it’s named as Australia’s top mainland beach, surrounded by coral reef, neighbouring rock pools and the local’s favourite thing to do, windsurfing.
If you’re looking for somewhere to stay with your pooch, check out our powered or unpowered caravan and camping sites within the park. Both have plenty of room for a caravan and car or tent, boat and car. If you need additional space, let us know when you make a booking.
Located only two and a half hours drive from Perth’s CBD, Jurien Bay is a local slice of paradise.
