Winter: Jun to August | 10°C - 23°C

Winter brings the coldest temperatures, with highs of approx. 22°C and lows of around 10° This makes this time of year great for hiking and other outdoor activities. Winter also marks the beginning of wildflower season so don't forget to bring your camera to capture all that colourful beauty.

Spring: Sep to Nov | 11°C - 28°C

Spring temperatures reach about 26°C during the day. This season is prime viewing time for the many humpback whales that call the area home. If you are looking to avoid throngs of travellers, November is your best bet as it tends to be less busy than other months.

Summer: December to February | 18°C - 34°C

Daytime temperatures in the summer average 33°C, though they can get as high as 45°C in the heart of the season. Even at night, the temperature still hovers around 19° When heading out on your adventures, be sure to bring plenty of water and reapply sunscreen frequently. If you're planning travel around Christmas, Kalbarri's beautiful warm summer weather makes it an ideal option. The beaches can get especially crowded during this time of year so arrive early to secure a spot on the sand.

No Fishing Zones in Kalbarri

There are Blue Holes along the coast in Kalbarri which are a FHPA (Fish Habitat Protection Area). That means, no fishing, no picking up of crustaceans no jetskis and no dogs. The Blue Holes start at the south from Siphons Beach northward and extend 300 metres north of the Blue Holes Carpark.

Chinaman’s Beach

Blue Holes

The ideal sheltered beach for a swim, you have to check out Blue Holes if you’re visiting Kalbarri. As a Fish Habitat Protection Area, that means it’s THE place for a snorkel to see fish, coral, and crustaceans in a natural and protected habitat.

Back Beach

Waiting at the opposite side of Chinamen’s Point are shallow rock pools and idyllic trails at Back Beach. Take a leisurely stroll there and explore the reef, stay for the sunset over the water.

Jakes Point

That’s right, it’s THE Jakes Point, renowned for being a surf spot with world class waves. Best attempted by experienced surfers, you can sit and watch the pros tackle this iconic lefthander with 10 ft waves!

Wittecara Beach

Get the 4WD ready as this is a beach location that allows 4WD access to the water. Sitting to the south of Red Bluff, be prepared for epic views while beach fishing at Wittecara. If you’re there at the right time, you can even spot whales passing by during their annual migration (May to October).

Red Bluff Beach

Red Bluff Beach sits right at the front of the breath-taking Red Bluff. You can swim in the calm waters or cast a line off the beach at this sheltered beach surrounded by sandstone rock that are millions of years old. This beach is all about drama with its contrasting landscapes, so remember to bring the camera.
